BYCP is delighted to be awarded a grant from Ascot Racecourse via Berkshire Community Foundation.
This funding of £3,645 will go towards re-opening our Friday night sessions for our young people aged 11+. Opening our doors an extra day a week will provide a warm, safe environment with affordable snacks for our youth club members who otherwise would have nothing else to do or go. We've chosen specifically to re-open Fridays as they are a key anti-social behaviour night in the week and we always aim to prevent our members from being around such environments.
Gideon, one of our youth workers here via Berkshire Youth said "[this reinforces that] BYCP is a safe place and a safe space."
Jon Yates, CEO of Berkshire Community Foundation said: "At Berkshire Community Foundation, we work to enable vibrant, caring and resilient communities by directing philanthropic funds towards charities that perform vital functions for local people. We are delighted to support Britwell Youth & Community Project in its important work and look forward to the positive impact enabled by this grant.”
Britwell Youth and Community Project is the only dedicated youth centre left in Slough. We work to empower young people by providing leisurely activities to connect with others, inspire and raise their aspirations and contribute to personal development and a positive outlook later in life.
Berkshire Community Foundation works across Berkshire to raise, then distribute, funds to charities and community groups in the County.
